Limitations
What MedusaPOS does not do yet.
MedusaPOS is in beta. Today it does not, or not yet:
Not yet
- Charge cards. It records payments taken on your own terminal.
- Handle refunds and returns.
- Accept Medusa promotion codes (coupons).
- Support multi-factor sign-in.
- Run as a native iOS, Android or desktop app. It runs in the browser.
- Scan barcodes with a camera. Use a keyboard-wedge USB or Bluetooth scanner.
Store setup limits
- Use one stock location per sales channel. With several, Medusa may reserve stock at another location than the sale's.
- Use one shipping profile per sale. A sale mixing profiles is refused.
- You need Medusa 2.21.
- Sign in with an admin user's email and password.
Till limits
- Only one tab per store stays live.
- There is no offline page cache. Reloading or reopening while offline fails.
- The first sign-in and catalogue load need a connection.
- Stock refreshes every 5 minutes, prices every 30 minutes and base prices nightly, not to the second.
- Deleted products leave the till at app start or within 24 hours while it stays open.
- Stock may go negative when an offline sale oversells, with a warning on the order.
- Medusa's reports can differ from receipts by fractions of a cent.
- The manager-approval limit is fixed at 500 minor units (€5.00 in a euro store). It is not a store setting.
- In 0.1.0, with about 2,000 products, the first sync takes about 45 s and search is slow.
In the live demo and the next release
Split payment, customers, parked sales and line price edit are in the live demo and the next release, not in 0.1.0. The next release is not published yet.
See At the till for how to use them.
